A friendly church in the heart of the Sunshine Coast where everyone is welcome.

Who We Are

KawanaLife Baptist Church is a place for everyone. We’re a diverse group of people at all ages and stages, from all walks of life.

At the core of all we do, is our belief in the good news of the Gospel - that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and was raised to life again.

Whether you’re looking for a church home or are simply exploring, we look forward to welcoming you this Sunday.

Our Sunday Services

Our services are relaxed yet reverent. We gather to worship God in song, pray together, and hear from God through the reading and preaching of the Bible. Afterwards, we enjoy spending time together over tea and coffee.

  • We Sing

Our music is a blend of contemporary worship songs and timeless hymns. You can listen to a selection of these on our KawanaLife playlist on Spotify.

  • We Learn

Our pastor, Justin, teaches the Bible in an expository style, helping us understand and apply God’s Word. You can watch a selection of past sermons on our KawanaLife YouTube channel.

  • We Chat

At the end of our services, we enjoy spending time together over morning tea or a light supper. We’d love the opportunity to get to know you — please stay and join us.

Our desire is to see lives transformed through the good news of Jesus Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s normal to have questions, especially if you’ve never been to church before.

  • Both of our services are friendly, welcoming, and centred on Jesus.

Our 9:30am service has a more traditional feel. We begin by sharing announcements and church news, followed by a time of singing and prayer. We read from the Bible, and our pastor, Justin, teaches from it in a way that helps connect God’s Word with everyday life. The service finishes around 11:00am, and everyone is invited to stay afterwards for tea, coffee, and conversation—it’s a great way to connect.

Our evening service (6–7pm) is smaller and more informal. We sing and pray, and Justin teaches from the Bible with opportunity for questions and discussion. Afterwards, we stay and chat over a light supper.

  • Children are a valued part of our church family. During our 9:30am service, primary-aged children are welcome to join KL Kids, held upstairs during the sermon, where they enjoy fun, engaging, and age-appropriate Bible teaching.

For parents with babies and toddlers, a Parents’ Room is available for your comfort, privacy, and convenience, with an audio link to the main auditorium.

We also run Surge, our combined Youth Group for students in Years 3–12, on Friday nights.

  • Yes. Much of our building is wheelchair accessible, and we have an accessible toilet available.

While there isn’t a designated disability parking space, we do have an informal spot next to the front door. If you’re planning a visit, please email us in advance, so we can reserve it for you.

  • We’re a mixed bag with people at all ages and stages of life. You’ll find couples, singles, divorced, widowed, families, professionals, workers, students and retirees.

  • Communion (also known as The Lord’s Supper) is a meaningful and tangible way for followers of Jesus to remember His sacrifice on the cross.

At KawanaLife we share communion on the first Sunday of each month (9.30am service only).

If you’re a Christian, you are welcome to take part in it with us. If you choose not to, that’s completely okay – there’s no pressure or judgement.

  • There’s no dress code. You’ll find some people wearing their ‘Sunday best’, while others will be in shorts and flip flops. The important thing is that you’re here, not what you’re wearing.

  • There’s no reserved or set seating, so please sit anywhere you like.

  • No. You’ll neither be asked, nor expected to give any money.

If you’d like to support the work of KawanaLife, however, you are welcome to make a donation and can find details on the different ways to give here. Giving is optional - it’s entirely up to you.

  • Absolutely! We have friendly door greeters to welcome everyone when they arrive.

If you’d like someone to meet you personally, just send us a message here (ideally a few days before your visit) and we’ll make sure someone is waiting for you.
