A friendly church in the heart of the Sunshine Coast where everyone is welcome.

Who We Are

KawanaLife Baptist Church is a place where everyone is welcome. We are a growing community of people from all ages and stages of life, united by our faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to know Him more.

At the heart of everything we do is the life-changing message of the Gospel: that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Through Him, we find forgiveness, hope, purpose, and new life.

Whether you're searching for a church home, exploring the Christian faith, or simply visiting, we'd love to welcome you this Sunday.

Our Sunday Services

Our services are relaxed yet reverent. We gather to worship God in song, pray together, and hear from God through the reading and preaching of the Bible. Afterwards, we enjoy spending time together over tea and coffee.

  • We Sing

Our music draws from both contemporary songs and cherished hymns, reflecting the richness of the Christian faith across generations. To explore a selection of the songs we sing, check out the KawanaLife Spotify playlist.

  • We Learn

Our pastor, Justin, teaches God's Word through faithful expository preaching, helping us understand the Bible and apply its truth for our lives today. To explore a selection of past sermons, visit the KawanaLife YouTube channel.

  • We Chat

After each service, we enjoy spending time together over morning tea or a light supper. It's a great opportunity to connect, ask questions, and get to know our church family. We'd love for you to stay and join us.

Our desire is to see lives transformed through the good news of Jesus Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s normal to have questions, especially if you’ve never been to church before.

  • Both of our services are friendly, welcoming, and centred on Jesus.

Our 9:30am service has a more structured format. We begin with announcements, followed by a time of worship through singing and prayer. We read from the Bible, and our pastor teaches God's Word in a way that is both faithful to Scripture and relevant to everyday life. The service concludes around 11:00am, after which everyone is invited to stay for tea, coffee, and conversation.

Our 6:00pm service is smaller and more informal. We spend time singing, praying, and exploring the Bible together, with opportunities for questions and discussion. Afterwards, we enjoy a light supper and fellowship together. Please note our evening services are currently on hold.

  • Children are a cherished part of our church family. During our 9:30am service, primary school-aged children are invited to join KL Kids, which runs upstairs during the sermon. It’s a fun, engaging space where the Bible is taught in an age-appropriate and meaningful way.

For families with babies and toddlers, our Parents’ Room is available throughout the service, providing a comfortable and private space with a live audio feed from the main auditorium.

We also run Surge, our combined Youth Group for students in Years 3–12, on Friday nights—a great place for young people to connect, have fun, and grow in faith together.

  • Yes. Our building is largely wheelchair accessible, and we have an accessible toilet available on site.

While we don’t have a designated disability parking space, there is an informal spot close to the front entrance.

If you’re planning a visit, please email us ahead of time, so we can reserve this space for you.

  • We’re a diverse church family made up of people from all walks of life and every stage of the journey.

You’ll find couples and singles, those who are married, separated, divorced or widowed, along with families, professionals, workers, students, and retirees.

Whatever your background or story, there’s a place for you here.

  • Communion (also known as The Lord’s Supper) is a meaningful and tangible way for followers of Jesus to remember and give thanks for His sacrifice on the cross.

At KawanaLife, we share communion on the first Sunday of each month during our 9:30am service.

If you’re a Christian, you are warmly invited to participate with us. If you choose not to, that’s completely okay – there’s no pressure or judgement.

  • There’s no dress code. Some people like to dress up for Sunday, while others come in shorts and flip flops.

We’re just glad you’re here with us —what matters most is you, not what you’re wearing.

  • There’s no reserved or assigned seating, so please feel free to sit wherever you feel most comfortable.

Whether that’s a quiet spot near the back, a seat up the front, or somewhere in between, you’re welcome to choose any place that feels right for you.

If you’ve come on your own and would prefer not to sit alone, please let one of our welcomers know when you arrive — they’ll be more than happy to help you find someone to sit with.

  • No. You won’t be asked or expected to give any money.

Giving is completely optional—it’s entirely up to you.

If you would like to support the work of KawanaLife, you’re welcome to make a donation, and you can find details on the different ways to give here.‍ ‍

  • Absolutely! We have friendly door greeters ready to welcome everyone as they arrive.

If you’d like someone to meet you personally, just send us a message here a few days before your visit here, and we’ll make sure someone is there to welcome you and help you feel at home.
